Hi, I was wondering if you had the option would you prefer to depart NZ from Christchurch vs Auckland?. I live in the 04 and Mrs 80days and I are looking at booking to Europe via Singapore. In the past we’ve always flown Wellington -> Auckland -> where we’re going, but I can see options on the Air NZ website to go via Christchurch too which got me wondering if that might be a better option.

I appreciate it's a very open question, but maybe to start the conversation, things I’ve thought of are the lounges and how busy they are, the experience with security, customs and biosecurity, and whether ATR’s (to Christchurch) vs A320’s (to Auckland) are a factor worth considering? The flight durations are the same, and the price is the same so I can at least cross those considerations off the list.

Most likely we’ll be leaving NZ on a weekend, but returning on a weekday.
