My wife and I are going for an anniversary trip. Kids are staying home. Huvafen is now also very nicely updated (post-renovations), seems a little smaller (around 50 rooms I think) and more geared toward couples. We like that the high-end restaurant is Japanese-Peruvian, seafood heavy as opposed to Italian. Base room is over-water, and speed boat included. Snorking looked better, and it is a little further away from Male (hoping it is quieter). However, it is 40k points more per night.
Amingiri also looks beautiful, but also a little bigger (about 100 rooms if I recall), and perhaps more crowded? The food options look fine. It does look more family friendly, with a great kids club, so if traveling with kids, probably would have picked this. Boat transfer not included but on the other hand it is cheaper by points. I don't think I would have been disappointed if I had kept my reservation here, even traveling as a couple.
We are going next month. I was hoping someone here would've gone there already to get some insights. Oh well, I will be the guinea pig! LOL
