I don't believe this has been posted yet, but I just made a seemingly normal booking on the Qatar Airways website, except I noticed that I didn't have a chance to add my oneworld Emerald frequent flyer number (and thus be able to assign my seats of choice).

Then pulled up MMB on the app, went to "Update Passenger Details," and there's no longer an option to add/modify frequent flyer number.

Tried full website version, same story.

Contacted Live Chat, and I was told this is no longer possible:

Second try on Live Chat yielded the same result, and a further phone call to QR came back with "this is a new compliance policy aimed at reducing the number of miles that are credited to the incorrect accounts."

Seems they will add FF# if holding higher tier status with QR, otherwise you are out of luck.

My guess is this 'enhancement' is aimed at getting more people to pay for seating in advance?

Anyway, this is a change that I'd love to see a U-turn on.. but we shall see. Safe travels everyone!
