That’s what I’m used to seeing as well. The AA lounges that I’ve used lately have them. They usually put the fresh towels there. It’s been years since I’ve had to use a PL shower, but I thought they had them also. Not that I really use them to sit on though, but more like a shelf to put stuff on.
The AmEx CL at DEN does not have them either, nor more importantly a luggage rack, which was very annoying with no storage space and trying to get stuff in and out of my bag that was sitting on the ground.
PL do have bathroom benches (
example) as standard, as do several other lounges in the US, but actually if I think of lounges across the world, I am typically leaving my roller on the floor and hanging my personal bag on the wall. It doesn't bother me, but again clearly YMMV on both availability, need, and use for those.
