Gold is 2x bags at 70lb each
United Club card holder (regardless of status) is 2x bags at 50lb each, plus your companion on the same reservation can also do 2x bags at 50lb each.

Your post implies that you are flying on OPM, almost no leisure travelers are getting lifetime gold unless they are mileage runners. Obviously if you are on OPM you get lounge access "for free from Gold", but also your Gold is "free" to begin with
