Hi all, I am a little new to the Marriott 3-4 cards, Hilton 2-3 cards strategy. I have stayed at all 3 but only midtier stays except for Mango House with a Hilton certificate. My question is why go through all that work?
If you look at a simple search for Marriott vs Hyatt at MRY, you are getting 0.5 CPP vs sometimes 4CPP+. You'd have to spend 1 entire FNA for a 400 USD/night property. Obviously there are the St. Regis but the maintenance with respect to AF, quarterly credits, semiannual credits, yearly credits, is it worth it at all? For all that annual fee, 2-3K, you could get another Chase SUB. I guess you get 90K out of 6K, which 2 nights and you might get 3-4 nights here? Is that it? AMEX platinum covers all the lounge passes and then some. I wouldn't think anyone would get rid of AMEX platinum for the Ritz-Carlton Card, Brilliant card or the Aspire Card but I do base from SFO where there is a good Centurion Lounge. Someone please educate us, thank you!
