We are going to Iceland and it would be fantastic to be able to continue on somewhere else and see two places using the free stopover.

When using AS Miles for Icelandair flights, I am not having any problems finding availability to/from KEF (Keflavik, Iceland). I am also having no problem finding availability booking JFK-ARN or JFK-AMS on Icelandair which automatically connects KEF.

But, the moment I try and make it a multi-city trip, with a stopover of a few days in KEF, the points nearly double. JFK-AMS, which automatically routes with a connection in KEF being 27.5K miles. When creating the stopover JFK- KEF (4 days) - AMS it requires 57.5K miles. Same flight numbers and times.

Am I doing something wrong because it seems like I am following the AS requirements for the free stopover (international, stops over in a partner airline HUB, etc.).
