A benefit that is touted, like Polaris or lounge access, is worthless if it can be used.
UA is like most every other carrier in the Western world other than some LLCs… they’ve built their whole business around the hub and spoke system (with some exceptions). They aren’t going to dismantle their business for the sake of depopulating some lounges.
