Is your booking ex-EU? I have noticed quite throttled A class availability when the PoS is ex-EU. Ex-UK not a problem. Remember you can use a GUF to upgrade a revenue booking if reward seats are available in the higher cabin.
Yes, it is ex-EU, the famous DUB starting point. However I was told none was available in any categories. For my transcon, the agent (rightfully) did see lots of A availability but she was cautious to check that it was the correct A, so no deal with that too as it was not the rewards A. Basically stuck on all fronts....
