On my return from MAD-LHR (in Y), again on the same PNR, I chose a window and one next to me and checked obsessively. At check in we were allocated two seats together but no window and in a different row. At the gate, my wife was pulled aside and given a different seat 20 rows apart, leaving me with a centre seat and her with a centre seat. No apologies or excuses were offered.
What is the point of having BA Gold status when flying IB when they treat you so badly?
Apparently this happens for IB codeshares for pax without IB status, though OWE 'dykwia' will help at the counter/gate; or stick with BA.
