Korean Airlines acquisition of Asiana and the issue of Star Alliance membership.
My wife and I are on a extensive Around the World trip flying Business class trip in May 2025 with Asiana Airlines. We are also Gold Star Alliance members with Singapore Airlines. With the acquisition of Asiana by Korean Airlines , what is going to happen to members who have booked (and paid) with Asiana and their points which should have gone to Star Alliance ?? This is a major concern as once approvals are agreed and the merger happens our points are lost to Skyteam which we have NO affiliation towards. I sincerely HOPE and PRAY they will have some amnesty time for customers who booked Asiana, just for their points to go to Star Alliance and …not Skyteam.Any help in answering this would be gratefully appreciated.
