Natch, when I last was there in May with my UK passport the desk to register your passport for e-gates on future occasions was resolutely closed. I don't think you can just rock up having completed the MDAC online and breeze though like in Singapore. Happy to be wrong on this but I seem to remember there's a step to do something at a desk with a physical person to enable e-gate access and this desk was closed and frankly never look like it was operational. I mean, of course.
