Yes exactly. It's obvious that NH is running NRT-BKK to serve the TPAC capacity that UA is feeding. They're timed for UA connecting flights. If not for UA feeding to NRT (and some NH US-NRT flights), NH would be operating the route solely on NQ LCC. I don't see why UA would want to operate a 5th freedom when NH can do all the legwork for rather well established route.

To some extent, yes the NRT BKK is there for collecting feeds from the US NRT arrivals on UA and NH. But Narita has a quite large catchment area population wise that will have easier access to Narita than to Haneda. Even people living quite centrally in Tokyo will often find it same same or even easier to get to Narita.
The Narita flights also gives a different timing bank than is currently possible from Haneda due to slot restrictions. I might actually like to have the afternoon/early evening departure that allows me to have my working day in Tokyo before leaving, and I don't really like the overnight flights to South East Asia as they are too short to get any decent sleep. So often the Narita flights work out better for me than the Haneda ones.
I doubt very much that JAL and ANA would pass NRT BKK entirely to ZG and NQ even is all feed from AA and UA went away.
