I checked in last night, no chocolates or bougie water, lol!
Since the lounge is closed / not available, breakfast was offered in the hotel. The front desk agent also mentioned that I'd get 750 points for the lack of a lounge.
There's quite a few minor things off about this place, but it's really just a functional stay for me as I am on a work trip.
- I received a sheet at check-in about the restaurant, named Edgar, after J Edgar Hoover, and the QR codes do not point to the Edgar's menus, but instead to Bonvoy's signup landing page.
- I'm not really a fan of the drab color scheme throughout the hotel floors and room.
- My suite had some food remnants from a previous patron
- Water pressure is good, but does go cold once in a while, and lasts for about 10 seconds.
- The seat at the desk is way too short, also mentioned by platbrownguy.
- Furniture still has labeling from where it was purchased! One decorative glass container was from ZGallerie, and cost $39.95
- ACs are loud
- Not such a great view out the windows.
- Lighting in the room is cold (all LED or fluorescent)
On the plus side:
- Location is good
- Gym is good
- Breakfast in the restaurant is hearty, and mostly covered by the breakfast credit.
- I asked them to waive the destination fee, and there wasn't any pushback to it. I'll have to confirm on the final bill though.
- Didn't have to ask about an upgrade. They put me in a suite.
I pretty much have the same suite layout as
platbrownguy
