Well, I figured where the app states "companion" but it's not on the mobile boarding after adding it to the wallet.

It's shown on the screen right before you add the boarding pass to the mobile wallet. About half way down the fare type is listed and it shows "Companion". I guess my companion will use that screen (not the mobile boarding pass) in case an agent question if my companion is my companion.
