Exactly this. There will almost certainly be one or two operators who have embedded themselves in the expat scene and will be the go to providers.

In terms of your prep, I'd take the time to read about the different areas of Kenya and get a sense of what you'd enjoy the most. An old fashioned guidebook is a decent starting point.
