OK, I'm going to eat humble pie. While I still maintain the Silver Kris lounge is a poor experience I am delighted to say the Krisflyer Gold lounge is absolutely lovely! It is so much more spacious and quiet. I visited both lounges at around noon. Yes, neither were too packed at that time of day, but there is a spaciousness at the Gold lounge that the SKL lacked.

I'm going to try the Gold lounge next time during the peak evening hours. See how that fares.

But it boggles the mind, what a weird (in a good way) airport Changi is. The experience for non-Premium pax is heaps better than it is for Premium pax. It's almost chalk and cheese.
