You can examine their strategy again this Christmas cause JX is implementing 3 additional frequencies to LAX while the aircraft # is still currently at 6. It seems like they are betting on Airbus delivering the 7th aircraft in time before the holiday season. They may have to hope none of the 359 goes in tech while operating 20 weekly long haul to North America if it doesn't deliver (just like this past August).
If JX joins OneWorld, I don't know if the current arrangement with AS will hold. To me the unique/special part of the arrangement is this: AS is giving 100% EQM and RDM for JX flights booked through AS. That is more EQM and RDM than JX gives its own FF members when booked through JX directly. Once JX is part of OneWorld, I wonder if the alliance would have rules that prevent such treatment, or if JX would feel like they have enough marketing power as part of OneWorld and not need AS as much, thus giving AS a worse revenue sharing deal, which then causes AS to roll back the earning rate.
