I was there last year flying MXP to JFK, arrived to MXP about 2 and half hours before boarding, and the airport security is slow and rather meh. Personally I wouldn't want to spend more than hour and half in the lounge, all I did was shower since I was stressed, took pictures, drank some wine and ate. If we are being honest, I have had more memorable experiences in united polaris lounge and club in EWR. The lounge is nice mind you, however I wouldn't make a major detour to spend more time in it.
If security is slow, that is good to know in terms of when we plan to arrive at the airport. We will be fine in the lounge if we get through security quickly - rather safe than sorry!
