I assume that Seazephyrs was referring to the term point of entry for POE, not a specific airport (which is, coincidentally, an airport in the US but is a US Army airfield, not a commercial airport).

In recent years, I've seen similar setups at major airports as you've described where the kiosks are off to the side.
