hello readers, I am feeling sort of stupid and disappointed today. I was a cobalt member for about 3 years and very recently (sep 13) took the plunge and took up the offer to upgrade from cobalt to gold (because of an upcoming trip). At that time the offer to upgrade was 20,000 MR when you charge $3,000 in net purchases and additional 10,000 points when you make a purchase between 14 and 17 months of Cardmembership.
This morning I see a new offer on Amex for the same upgrade where in instead of 20000 MR it is now offering 40000 MR (DOUBLE!). To say i am heartbroken would be an understatement. I just put in the upgrade, havent even gotten the card yet and they changed the offer. so I am wondering - is there any possibility if i speak to Amex they will honor the new offer for me? is there anything in their policies that can cover this change of policy in two weeks? any ideas...
