thank you for the answer and if JX were to go to NYC it might comedown to a situation of EWR vs JFK. Ideally they would want to time the New York flight to their Asia connections early morning. If you look at JFK it's this 12:50 am KE086 JFK-ICN 1:25am BR031 JFK-TPE which used to be the 11:40pm EWR-TPE via ANC flight then 1:35am PR127 JFK-MNL Terminals 7 & 8 1:55am CX843 1:30am JL3 2:00am NH159 and Terminal 4 JFK Airport 8:35-8:55pm SQ25 10:35pm SQ23.

For EWR you only have 8:15 pm Newark to Manila Via San Francisco UA189. Followed by SQ21 9:35am arrival at NAIA is 11pm on SQ918 SIN-MNL and pre Covid-19 1:55am CX899 to HKG arrival 5:30am 5 min before CX843 used to be CX845 5:35am arrival in HKG
