Just saw a story from CTV News (video only/YouTube:
) for someone in a similar situation for a return flight from Tampa to Toronto due to what Air Canada described as an "error recording the customer's boarding of the original flight [that] resulted in the subsequent trips being cancelled as per [Air Canada's] policy."

I wonder how often this happens.
