Looking for any advice from the forum members on a route to resolve BA being unable to price a date change on a booking I have.
Background:
Nov 2023 Original booked:
25/12/23 - 4/4/24 LHR-DXB
WT+ (£1250) Cash Purchase
20th Dec 23 - POUG
upgrade outbound WT+ to CW (£649 cash)
1st April 24 push return leg to May 2024 (£50 change fee)
May/24 push return leg again to Oct 4th 2024 (£50 change fee)
Sept/24
CASH upgrade return leg to CW (£629 cash)
20th Sept 24 - request BA to change date to 3rd October 24 (1 day earlier same flight)
They advise they need fare team to recalculate fare for changing the date and ask to call back after 24 hours.
21st Sep - Not done, please call back tomorrow
22/23/24/25/26th Sep - call back each day, said not done yet, please call back tomorrow (calling gold line each time)
27th Sep - Call gold line, advised fare has been calculated however "sorry sir, it looks like the agent put request for recalculation for the date change to be the 4th October not the 3rd October."
This already is my flight so there's nothing to calculate, it's meant to be for the 3rd october. Agent was very apologietic saying its obvious from the notes it was to be calculated for changing to the 3rd Oct.
I asked out of interest what the computer showed as price (for keeping my flight the same lol) and was £678!!
She said obviously this is wrong and please hold while i contact team to request recalculation for the 3rd Oct as originally asked.
57m 48seconds holding, call disconnects.
Now I consider myself to be relatively patient, but the above is starting to frustrate. I understand the booking is complicated with date changes and upgrades occurring so i get the back office fare team need to help price the date change. Will be calling the Gold line again this morning when opens but has anyone any advice on how to escalate, get this resolved? Flight is now under 7 days and i'd ideally like this resolved ASAP.
I also am skeptical once i hopefully finally do get a price that it is correct considering they calculated keeping me on the same flight as a chargeable item
