The other day I was typing an entry in the SAA forum and it got me thinking about the inherent confusion of JHB JNB and, to some extent ORT.
When I'm referring to the airport itself, I use JNB (never ORT) as in "I arrive JNB at 1805". But, when I'm talking about the city, I say JHB as in, "I'm only visiting family in JHB before flying on to CPT."
What do other people "say" and what's the preferred way nowadays? Nobody uses Jan Smuts or DF Malan.
I use ORT with colleagues just to avoid confusion with Lanseria the other JHB airport. JNB and JHB are just one typo apart also.
