I'm coming from Newark, connecting on to Bangkok. We'll have to change terminals, and definitely want to squeeze in a shower between flights if we can. Will we have access to these areas if in transit?

Also, will we be asked to pay the int'l departure tax as well? The fee won't be included in our ticket, as we're flying space-available. Any tips are appreciated!
Transit paxs need not go through customs/immigration, although you will have to go through security. An agent should be on hand to greet your flight and direct transit paxs to security. Have documents (boarding pass/ticket receipts/NRSA ticket) prepared for inspection at the security checkpoint.

After security, proceed downstairs to the bus that will shuttle you to the other terminal. Once you arrive, you have unfettered access to all the facilities within the terminal, including pay showers, restaurants, etc.

I am not sure what sort of arrangements there are for NRSAs, e.g. whether you check-in at the transfer desk or at the gate.
