In our case the BA manager in Singapore had to do us a favour and change the name on the ticket before the 3rd party agent would check us in.

So, yes there are a lot of examples where the exact match was flexible, but the rules state the opposite.

With respect - certainly in terms of the TSA - you are confusing things and unnecessarily worrying the OP without any cause.

The link you provided refers to TSAPre (and probably, by extension, Global Entry). "The name submitted on your airline reservation must be an exact match to the name you provided on your application" is covered by API data, which the OP has already said includes full passport names.

The boarding pass is completely separate to this and no-one at BA will bat an eyelid.
