I think there's an FM Post about them doing this for another property, Riverview Ranch Retreat in Montana. But in the FM situation, it sounds like room capacity said 4, guests entered 4 people during booking process, and weren't informed during the booking process of any additional fees. But then the property began reaching out, stating $500 extra per person above 2 per night.
I am booked for 4 people. The maximum this property allows is 6. When I originally booked the award stay I was unable to book it for 6 (perhaps I missed something at the time) but was able to without issue for 4 without anything being disclosed about additional fees. This situation is similar to the Montana one, however this property is 2 bed - so I am not even violating the terms of 2 people per room with 4 people. Frankly - they advertise 6 people so a booking for 6 shouldn't either however that one becomes gray due to the 2 per room terms.
