Under-inflated tires have nothing to do with EV charging. It can happen with gas cars, too.
But in a Tesla it's pretty easy to check and validate what it should be--the manual is electronic and on the car as well as real-time tire pressure. No excuse for blaming me and charging me for their poor maintenance.

yep. I was once told by a Hertz manager that their policy was to inflate the tires to the maximum rating for the tire not the car's listed recommendation on the doors. As they can't predict how much load the customer will put in the car, they opt for the tire rating. this is why I carry around a tire gauge now so I can check the tires and often let air out for what the car wants.
This is the best bet when you want tires to have their highest load rating. It is why the Tesla tire pressures are listed on the tire and in the car as 45psi (tire may even be 48--I have to see what my sidewalls say). By not having tires at the correct pressure, it was their fault the tire blew. I should have billed them for my lost time as I only had 24hrs on the ground on that trip.
