One has to look at the overall value of using BA for SWU's.

1. You need to buy a PE ticket to get to J
2. You need to find saver award J space on BA

You have to ask yourself is your chance of finding advance C space on AA greater than #2? How much more is PE on BA compared to MCE on AA?

I am finding overall it's better to just buy BA J out of JFK to LHR and use AA miles to position to JFK. With my BA chase card plus AARP discounts I can get return J confirmed for $2300.

I'll keep my SWU to use when C space opens up on LIT-NRT.
