CDG airport is underwhelming

I traveled ZYR-CDG-OPO today to try out Air France. I always thought that Paris CDG was a very big airport and there would be lots of things to do but I was so underwhelmed. I was flying intra-schengen (economy so no lounge access) so maybe that part of the terminal is less fancy but it was a boring place. Even Charleroi is more exciting with an outdoor viewing terrace. The piers are somewhat interesting with the sunken restaurants but it was all standard food like Paul's and Exki. I don't know this was my first time flying Air France and from Terminal 2F but I think I will stick to KLM again and go via Amsterdam.
Another bad thing was the security. One young woman had to deal with all secondary screenings and she could not keep up. Not her fault of course,
The only upsides of this voyage were the TGV from Brussels in first class (even on en economy ticket) and the free onboard food and drink (a rarity in Europe).
