My Bose QC35 II headphones default to connecting to my iPhone and MacBook. When I want to pair to the IFE, I use the Bose app to disconnect (not unpair) my MacBook, then I pair with the IFE. Once that's done, I use the Bose app to disconnect my iPhone. Unless I do that last step, I find the volume to be low and occasionally garbled. Upon arrival, I use the iOS setting to re-connect the headphones, use the Bose app to reconnect the MacBook and unpair the IFE connection.
