Tonight's BA 73 to AUH cancelled due to 'aircraft unserviceability'; I guess the BA 72 ex-AUH tomorrow morning is also gone. Would have been a 789.

Managed to get through to the duty office last night after a long hold - cancellations lots of calls due to TPA shutting down for Hurricane Helene. They couldn't have been more helpful and we're now on EY first thing tomorrow in F (Apartments) so a significant improvement. Plus an unasked for refund of a day's hotel stay (we are still there 5 nights as booked).

Earlier in the day was advised that BA 72 on 2nd October is being down-sized to a 788; so no F. No dice on a re-route via Doha. They could have squeezed us in F ex DXB on the overnight but we would have had to pick up the tab on the land transfer AUH-DXB. Downgrade accepted at GBP 700 each.

BA F tier points to be honoured on both legs (got that in writing).

Quite a stressful day - especially as this is a break to recover from recent health issues.
