OP could turn off video, put on headphones, use the chat feature as needed and it would be little different from what everyone else is doing on their devices (streaming, listening, chatting).
I’ve done this ^ a handful of times when truly needed. Used a VPN. Worked like a charm. Hated doing it, though, and echo the sentiment of others. I’ve seen FAs be quick to shut people down when they appear to be having phone conversations.
EDIT- Will be interesting to see how this dynamic is handled with Starlink.
