The agent eventually figured out how to get it done in Shares.
I forget the trick and am wondering if anyone else has had this problem & what is the solution (other than buying a business class ticket).
Thank you
If it is a single ticket, there should be no fees as first marketing carrier rule applies. On separate tickets, SQ is in their right to claim the fees, though will probably not happen if checked through by United.
Can I suggest IAH HND HND SGN? The layover in Haneda on the way there will be a bit long, but overall should turn out quite a bit shorter. Should also work as IAH NRT NRT SGN.
