I made this decision a long time back when the model 3 I was given had 10psi underinflated tires all around. Wasn't a big deal until a bump in a construction zone caused one to go flat. While it only costed me about 30 minutes as they swapped the tire quickly enough, I mentioned several times how this wouldn't have happened if the tires were inflated to the proper pressures as I know they should have been 45 according to the Tesla documentation since I own a Tesla. Management and customer service argued back stating that it doesn't matter if the tires were underinflated, I was still responsible for the damage. I was done with EVs at that location after that as the last straw.
EV rentals simply do not work in the same way that gas cars do. And until a brand new, ground up EV rental company comes into existence, I don't think any of the traditional companies will get how to do it.
