Fyi - recently stated at the AC Hotel downtown Los Angeles convention center. No issue getting 4pm checkout. In fact I selected it during mobile check in and the front desk noted that when I went there and said they'd code my keys for 4.
Maybe it helped that my late check out also happened to be at the end of a conference when lots of people were departing.
