If you want to be 99% sure that you will be seating in the same row, pick another row. It seems that IB has not made anything special for row 1, so there is no benefit of staying there.

I think Aer Lingus has 1-2-1 in Business Class. It could very well be that there were no PE seats that would arrive on time for the aircraft launch.
