I think it is wet leases of BAEF to BA Mainline that are not allowed. Mainline unions are not keen on non-mainline crews operating from LHR, which I can understand. But does create a situation where BA have to hire external aircraft and crews from Titan, etc to cover LHR short haul. Presumably the agreements allow for this as wet-leasing from a 3rd party is an expensive activity. How did BA get away with the B|Med and GB Airways franchises in the day?
