In fairness though, were you travelling in Signature class with them? I believe that lounge experience in LAX is considered part of the AC Signature Lounge Experience.

No - I don't think so. While I have never been through LAX, to the best of my knowledge there are only 2 Signature Suites - YYZ and YVR.
In any event,that is no excuse for the behavior of the lounge attendant or the pax (I'm convinced he said something very rude to provoke her response)
