They aren't taking away a MM'ers hard earned benefit of nominating someone. They are putting stop to people two, three, or more removed from a MM'er with GS or 1K status at the top of the chain who earned it from passing that on to several more who didn't.
Instead, UA decided to take a hard line approach and cut our benefits. This is a robbery, IMHO.
The MM benefit isn't cut and you could say the robbery is all on the daisy chain gamers' side.
Doesn't matter if its a 20-long chain or only a few, gaming dilutes status benefits for those who actually earned it.
I'm no UA apologist but they made the right call here. If making a simple change like this to clarify MM companion rules is as far as they are going to take it then we should count ourselves lucky. There's far worse things they could do to gut the program.
