I got a confirmation email and confirmation number and the taxes were charged to my credit card. I then cancelled it so I can't say for sure if it was real. But on the website, they don't let you even proceed to a points booking.
Interesting! In my case, I received an email stating specifically that I would not be able to complete the reservation due to the 60 days rule, even though it was "on hold".
