Ah! Maybe if you post your fare basis people here can comment whether you may be entitled to a J seat if appropriate inventory opens up. Then you can set an expertflyer alert for space and call AA to move you, although who knows how adept the AA agents will be at that. If the flight is on an A319 though there are so few J seats it would take a lot of luck.
