This is a blatant effort by United to cut our MM benefits. When you reach 1M, you are entitled to nominate a companion to share your status under United MM program. No matter what.

To take a MM's hard earned benefit of nominating someone away is simply wrong.

So called "Daisy's Chain" of 20 GS is an urban myth. In most cases, it probably involves one MM and companion who is also MM.

A fair solution should be that the nominee retains the MM benefit to nominate another member to share earned status (at least Gold) instated of elevated status due to the 1st nomination.

Instead, UA decided to take a hard line approach and cut our benefits. This is a robbery, IMHO.
That solution has come up a few times but, believe it or not, it's probably too complicated to impliment without confusion. People will always be wondering/complaining about how their sponsor is a GS/1K yet they are only a Premier Gold.

UA is taking the right approach... you can either sponsor someone or be sponsored by someone. You get to choose.
