Flying many awards flights and mostly on lower fares economy standard this year...

I have the SQS needed to maintain my status this year by November but running into a bit of a strange situation with SQD being $271 short.

I will likely do a day trip just to meet that $271 SQD requirements, and since SQD doesn't carryover, there's no point going over too much. What's the optimal routes, e.g. cheapest from YOW? Flying to YYZ will have a large portion of the fare going towards airport fees instead of SQD, YYC/YWG appear to be the better and cheaper options despite being further away.

I have most weekends free to travel to nowhere but I'd prefer to avoid overnight stays.
