Airport staff changing flight for no apparent reason?
So wondering if anyone else has had this happen.
Flying today STL to DAL. Got a notification about 2 hours before that due to “flight disruption” I’d been rebooked to a connecting flight through Houston that would arrive over 3 hours later.
So I check flights online only to find the original flight was on time!
I called the southwest customer support line and that person confirmed my original flight was operational AND full. After a few minutes checking, she said my record was changed at the airport and she didn’t know why. Luckily she was able to grab a seat that became available from inventory and put me back on flight. She also gave me a love voucher to cover the “loss” of my A List Preferred boarding spot.
All turned out fine but just curious why this would happen? Fluke? Overeager agent trying to prevent an overbooked situation?
