I wouldn't worry with how the hotel is coded or anything like that, all that matters is whether it's on the official list or not. If it is on the list, and it doesn't post automatically, then you have to wait a few weeks before contacting Amex to fix it as noted.
There was a recent link posted in the similar thread over in the Hilton forum, and there seem to be a few hotels that are now missing that were previously included.
