Booked Penthouse Balcony - amazing view of the beach. Strangely the umbrella was missing so 10-3 was just baking sun. Hard to believe a $330/nt room they couldn't get that sorted. It looked like the corresponding room had one. I guess on the 14th floor with a lot of wind ya can't just put any umbrella there. My Dad loved it tho!
Also booked Oceanfront Room - 2nd best room? The windows were almost chest height so the view was def overrated unless you stood at the window.
Gold Status: Letter and chocolates in the room. No real significant recognition of status, although a few of the staff called me by Mr RdM
Def would recommend this hotel for the location, fun staff, breakfast on the ground floor looking over the beach, and of course, the balcony!


Ibis Copacabana Post 2: Absolutely no status recognition. Huge 8 story place and when I asked for 2pm late checkout was told they were full.


Ibis Rio Santo Dumas: Absolutely no status recognition. Went down to get some food delivery and upon return I startled the maid who appeared to be rummaging thru my stuff and lofted up a "oh you wanted towels" excuse. Do Not Disturb was up of course. Reported the incident to management who seemed not to care. Kinda suspicious the maid popped in 2 minutes after I left. Perhaps I'm being paranoid but it seemed really odd. No cart in front of my room etc, the timing, and the well prepared "oh you want towels?!"
