Are you talking about the $50 hotel once-a-year credit for having the CSP/CSR card? I haven't heard of a %50 credit.
Doesn't matter who checks in. Just call the hotel and tell them your wife will be checking in. You can stay home and watch ESPN.

Edited out CSR card.
