What i do in these cases is take a screenshot of hotel searches in google or the Marriott/Hyatt app. This way, if I get push back, I can point to the prevailing market rate. $200 isn't particularly high.

I also recommend using a credit card with trip delay insurance. The CSR and Amex Plat have paid their annual fees on this alone.
